Hi all! My name is Sophie and I joined Big Ambitions through the Kickstart Scheme earlier this year as a Receptionist/Business Support Officer as I wanted to get into admin and the ethos of the company really appealed to me. As someone who has been unemployed myself, I know firsthand how important and effective Big Ambitions’ work is.

I man the reception desk and deal with any general enquiries, as well as taking lead for the referral process, so you will likely speak to me at some point during your journey with us! I also add clients onto our management system and database and act as an extra pair of hands for any ad-hoc tasks. My job is to streamline our operations and free up time for the key workers so they can help more people!

Favourite film: Jurassic Park!

Hobbies/Interests: I love reading so a book I would strongly recommend is The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. I think everyone should read it because the human experience is explored with such beauty, clarity, and compassion, but it is especially profound for people experiencing depression and poor mental health episodes. 

I also have a degree in Language Studies from the Open University, and I enjoy continuing to learn languages in my spare time such as French, Italian, and Greek.
